CommunityWorks Canada®
CommunityWorks Canada® (CWC) is a pre-employment, community-based volunteer training program for teens and young adults in high school between the ages of 15 to 21 with ASD. With the support of peer mentors, the program is designed to help teens explore their interests and abilities in a variety of work environments while learning important skills that will enhance their ability to live and work more independently. Each week the teens will volunteer with a different local organization while they develop job skills, learn to socialize and make lasting friendships. Teens are required to have transportation to and from the different locations each week and be able to commit to a weekly 2.5 hour session for 12 weeks. This program is open to 6 participants. *Please note that by registering you are expressing interest in this program. Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities

EmploymentWorks Canada®
EmploymentWorks Canada® (EWC) is a newly designed program that offers employment preparedness training for individuals ages 15-29 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who are no longer attending school and are seeking opportunities to practice and develop the essential skills necessary to obtain sustainable employment. This program involves structured learning sessions on Tuesday mornings, as well as experiential learning at various work sites on Wednesdays. This program is open to 8 participants for each 12 week block. *Please note that by registering you are expressing interest in this program. Further eligibility assessment and screening will take place to confirm enrollment.

Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relationship Skills (PEERS) for Teens
PEERS for teens (13 – 18) is a 10-week evidence-based social skills intervention for up to motivated teens. PEERS is intended for higher functioning adults without significant intellectual disabilities and must attend each session with a social coach. Disclaimer: This program is a partnership between Kerry’s Place Autism Services – Central Region and Autism Ontario – York Chapter. In order to work collaboratively, we will need to share the information provided at registration, as well as any information gathered during the screening process and throughout program delivery.By proceeding with registration, you will be conclusively deemed to have agreed to this aforementioned sharing of information between Kerry’s Place and Autism Ontario. Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA): Both parties acknowledge that the collection of information is subject to the provisions of PHIPA and undertake to comply with the provisions of that Act.

Children's Friendship Training
Children’s Friendship Training is a 10-week evidence-based social skills group of 7-10 kids (age 6-8). CFT is intended for kids with ASD level 1 & must attend each session with a social coach. Registration is not confirmed until after a screening process. Be sure to register & get on the wait list as many will be screened with only the most suitable candidates for the group being selected each session. Disclaimer:This program is a partnership between Kerry’s Place and Autism Ontario. In order to work collaboratively, partner agencies will need to share personal information of participants and their families. By proceeding with registration, you will be conclusively deemed to have agreed to this aforementioned sharing of information between Kerry’s Place and Autism Ontario. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention for Parents and Caregivers - How to handle a crisis and keep everyone safe. CPI
This course is intended for family members who support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and would like to enhance their skills in a crisis. Participants will not be certified. Families must have completed an intake with Kerry's Place prior to registering for the course.* This workshop will provide parents and caregivers with an overview of some of the concepts and strategies taught in the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program that can help in the support and care of their family members at home and in the community. It may also give parents and caregivers insights into behavior patterns of their family members. The workshop includes workbooks in which participants can fill in information about their family member as they go through various program concepts. After the workshop, they'll have take-away Action Plans filled with strategies they can begin to use immediately. *Please bring a lunch.Please wear lace up shoes with good traction
